Niğde University was founded on July 3rd, 1992 regarding the 3837 numbered law’s 22nd numbered additional article by altering and accepting the 41numbered decree law about Higher Education Councils Organization and altering the 2809 numbered law’s 78 and 190 numbered decree laws according to the 3837 numbered law and the foundation was published in the 21281 numbered official gazette on July 11th, 1992. Every year, 50 undergraduate students have been accepted to the program with student selection and placement exam (OSYS).The department presents 4 years of education program to give a degree of History. There are currently over 183 students studying at History Department. The Department consists of the following major branches: Ancient, Middle Age, New Age and History of Republic of Turkey.History is a scientific discipline which investigates how societies change and develop in political, social, economic, and cultural contexts through time and their contributions to the civilization in the world. The philosophy of the Department is to enrich the cultural and intellectual point of view of students by challenging dogmatism to understand the ''other'' in an objective perspective. |
